[Profile]
Jose Romero Garrido was born in Baeza, Andalusia, Spain in 1954. His family moved to Madrid when he was a child, and in 1968, he entered the Ramirez workshop and began his career as a craftsman. After a period of steady training and military service, he re-entered the Ramirez workshop to become a Master Craftsman, and was appointed as a Master Craftsman at the age of 21, after receiving high praise from Ramirez III. After working at the Ramirez workshop for 8 years, he opened his own workshop in Madrid in 1983.
He produces guitars in both classical and flamenco styles, and while they have the rich and massive acoustic characteristics of the Ramirez Madrid school, the clear and sharp sound image gives them a modern feel, and they are especially well received for their flamenco models.

[Description]
This is a 1994 Flamenco Blanca (white) model by Jose Romero, serial number 279 (Used). The guitar is slightly fuller in body than typical Blanca models, yet retains the bright, dense single-note tone characteristic of the Madrid tradition. It delivers excellent projection, strong attack, and drive, while responding exquisitely to nuanced touch.

The internal bracing features two harmonic bars above the soundhole (neck side), one below (bridge side), and seven symmetrical fan braces (all but the central one stop near the bridge). The ends of the fan braces are anchored by two closing bars. Resonance is set slightly above F♯.

The guitar shows typical play wear, including marks on the treble side of the top and around the bridge (string jump mark at the 3rd string position). The top has two repaired cracks of approximately 10 cm each, and the back has two similar repairs near the bottom; all have been professionally stabilized and do not affect playability.

The neck is very slightly forward-bowed but fully playable, and frets show minor wear. The guitar features a relatively rare orange lacquer finish for Romero instruments. The neck is a slim, flat D-shape with angular edges. The saddle allows roughly 1 mm of adjustment, permitting further lowering of string action if desired.
