[Luthier Information]
Born in 1947 in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. He began building guitars in his teens and, in 1964 at the age of 17, entered the workshop of Tomozaburo Kurosawa as an apprentice. In 1969, he established his own workshop in Tokorozawa.
Since the early stages of his career, he has devoted himself to studying the guitars of Hermann Hauser I, and has consistently applied the results of this research to the creation of instruments with outstanding tonal balance. He was also among the first Japanese luthiers to take on the construction of electric nylon-string guitars. Owing to his exceptional craftsmanship, he has received numerous requests from the steel-string acoustic guitar field as well, producing a limited number of high-quality models there too.
That said, the clearest expression of his aesthetic and philosophy is undoubtedly found in his Hauser models. Their refined workmanship, lustrous tone, and superb acoustic balance consistently achieve a level of completion worthy of the Hauser name. The choice of tonewoods is also of a grade well above average for this price range, making this brand one of the best in Japan in terms of cost performance.

[Instrument Information]
This is the upper-tier Model 50, built in 2008, with a 650mm scale length.

The sound is elegant and colorful without being overly assertive, characterized by a pleasing sense of note separation. The volume is well-controlled rather than excessive, and the overall tonal balance reflects the distinctive refinement of this maker. The beauty of construction, glossy tonal character, and an exquisitely judged sense of balance—what might be described as a “middle-ground ideal”—are all realized here at a very high level.

While the current Model 50 features rosewood for the back and sides, this instrument uses Central and South American rosewood, making it exceptionally cost-effective when compared with the current specification.

The neck shows an appropriate amount of relief and is in excellent condition. There is ample saddle height remaining, allowing a wide range of adjustment for string action, which is another appealing point.

Considering that the instrument is now 18 years old, it remains in remarkably fine condition. There are playing marks mainly on the top, which attest to regular use, while also indicating that the guitar has been carefully cared for. There is no history of crack repairs, and the instrument is structurally sound overall. A black hard case is included.
