Marco Bortolozzo is a luthier based in Milan, Italy. He was born in the early 1980s in Villanova di Fossalta, a small town in northeastern Italy surrounded by vineyards and rural landscapes.

During his youth, Marco spent much of his time crafting with his father’s tools and playing music. His journey into guitar making began unexpectedly when he found luthier Dario Pontiggia in the Yellow Pages. It was Pontiggia’s stories about Antonio de Torres that ultimately inspired Marco to pursue the path of a guitar maker.

Marco’s philosophy centers around the belief that the finest instruments come directly from the hands of the craftsman. With deep respect for traditional makers, he naturally integrates new elements into his work, creating guitars that seamlessly blend innovation with a nostalgic charm. His instruments are known for their beauty, elegance, and subtle artistry.

Although his designs are never ostentatious, they reflect a refined and balanced aesthetic, with meticulous attention to every detail. Today, Marco is regarded as one of the most outstanding young luthiers in Italy.

This is the 2025 Hauser I Model No.116, crafted by Marco Bortolozzo.

The soundboard is made of spruce, while the back and sides are constructed from Brazilian rosewood. The back features a distinctive three-piece design, and the sides are double-layered with maple on the inside. The entire instrument is finished in traditional shellac.
