[Profile] Luthier Information Born in 1947 in Badajoz, Spain, he began working at the Ramirez workshop at the age of 13. Due to family circumstances, he temporarily moved to Germany, but upon returning to Spain, he rejoined Ramirez. By 1964, he was entrusted with making guitars, and his instruments from this period remain highly regarded today as “MC-stamped” Ramirez guitars. In 1978, encouraged by the advice of the great Arcángel Fernández, he established his own workshop in Madrid. His guitars gained recognition among renowned players worldwide, and he has also devoted himself to teaching through master courses in Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and beyond. From 1999, he collaborated closely with Arcángel Fernández for 13 years, during which he further refined his craft and gradually developed his own distinctive style. Today, following Arcángel’s retirement, he continues his work as his sole successor.
[Description] This instrument was built shortly after his departure from the Ramirez workshop, during the early period of his independent career. Although a youthful work, it already demonstrates the hallmarks of the Madrid school of guitar-making at a remarkably high level, combined with excellent playability—making it a truly outstanding instrument. While the soundboard shows some scratches and marks from use, the original finish remains intact. The neck is straight, the string height is well-adjusted for comfortable playing, and the guitar offers a bright, clear tone with excellent projection.
