〔Maker Information〕
Born in Granada, Spain in 1960. At the age of 14, he entered the workshop of his uncle, Antonio Marín Montero, as an apprentice, and after ten years, in 1984, began building guitars under his own label. Since then, he has continued working in the same workshop alongside Antonio, earning international acclaim as part of one of Spain’s most highly regarded ateliers, known for producing instruments of exceptional quality.
He can be considered one of the makers who most perfectly embodies what many people imagine when they hear the phrase “the Granada sound.” His guitars combine grandeur and delicacy, offering a tone that is at once clear and projecting, yet deep and profound. In addition to their tonal excellence, his instruments are distinguished by outstanding craftsmanship, exquisitely refined detailing, and beautiful finishes—placing them among the finest examples of Spanish guitar making. These qualities continue to inspire leading performers across a wide range of musical genres.

〔Instrument Information〕
Built in 2004, No. 467. The scale length is set at 650 mm.

Now over 20 years old, this guitar has matured into a richly seasoned instrument with great character. While retaining excellent immediacy and ample projection, years of playing have added a pleasing suppleness to the tone, resulting in a distinctive balance of brightness and darkness rarely found in other Granada-school instruments. Sustain is strong, balance across the entire register is excellent, and the response is notably quick. It fully preserves the powerful, soaring projection characteristic of the Marín workshop, while also incorporating a subtle, classical shadow in its resonance—making it a truly captivating instrument.

Finished entirely in shellac, and fitted with Rubner tuning machines. The neck is straight and offers very good playability, with virtually no fret wear. String height is set relatively low at 2.3 mm on the 1st string and 3.3 mm on the 6th string, and approximately 1.5 mm of saddle height remains, allowing for future adjustment if desired. String tension feels relatively light, and the neck profile is of a standard, comfortable shape, making the guitar easy to play.

There are signs of normal use, but no major or conspicuous damage. Fine playing marks are visible along the back of the neck, light pick wear around the soundhole, and a few shallow scratches near the treble side of the neck joint on the top. All are consistent with regular playing and do not detract significantly from the instrument’s appearance. There is no history of crack repairs, and the overall condition is very good. A black hard case is included.
